I have for sale an 1880 presidential campaign token for Winfield Scott Hancock. The token looks to be made of white metal, it is 1 1/4 inch in diameter and in uncirculated condition with dark spots, mostly on the obverse, see photos. Hancock, 02/14/1824 - 02/09/1886, was a United States Army officer and the Democratic nominee for president of the United States in 1880. His army career lasted over 40 years and included service in the Mexican-American war, he was a Union General in the civil war, he took part in the military reconstruction of the south and was involved with the army presence in the western frontier. He was defeated for president by Republican James A. Garfield. His Vice President was William Hayden English, 08/27/1822 - 02/07/1896, of Indiana. The obverse shows the civilian bust of Hancock in the center and at the rim it reads FOR PRESIDENT - WINFIELD S. HANCOCK. The reverse reads E. PLURIBUS UNUM above a large eagle, perched on a shield flanked by two flags to either side. Please see over 850 more collectibles for sale in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (18,918 DRA)
