I have for sale a political token for Stephen A. Douglas, a democratic who ran against Abraham Lincoln, a republican in the 1860 presidential election and we all know Lincoln won. Douglas was a politician and lawyer from the state of Illinois. This token is made of white metal, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and it is encased in a Numismatic Guaranty company case and graded MS 61 PL. This token is listed in the DeWitt catalog as #SD-1860-IA. It has the same obverse as the SD-1860-1 token but a different reverse. The token obverse shows the raised bust of STEPHEN A. DOUGLAS with his name. It has a flat nose that is normal for this token. On the bust truncation it has the letters EYMF and in tiny letters below the bust it reads HENNING AND EYMANN NY. On the reverse it reads BORN - APRIL 23, 1813 - DIED JUNE 3 - 1861. On the lower left of the reverse in tiny letters it reads A.I. HENING NY. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (18,601 IRR)
