Robert Kennedy announced his candidacy in mid-March 1968 when things were looking bad for sitting president, Lyndon Johnson. The Vietnam War was taking a toll on LBJ with the public, after he had won by a landslide in 1964. His Administration's and the Pentagon's credibility was constantly challenged by the press in the numbers and the conduct of that war. RFK and his fellow presidential candidates often pointed to a "credibility gap." After gaining momentum toward the nomination, RFK was assassinated in the kitchen area of the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the night he won the June 4 California Democratic Presidential Primary. After having just finished his speech and, while exiting the hotel, he was shot. He died early in the morning of June 6. Bobby may have been on the way towards the White House if Sirhan Sirhan hadn't killed him- who's actually still alive in a California jail. Here are two, single page, 8.5" x 11" paper fliers or hand-outs; one specific to the May 7, 1968, Indiana Democratic Primary; the other is targeting college students pursuing an education degree in order to become teachers. They are in very nice condition but please look at our images to judge that for yourself so that you can be happy with your purchase. S & H on this is $5.50, first class with tracking. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential campaign (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We will be happy to combine S&H even though eBay says we don't. We do this by issuing a refund for any overpayment. 6782
