The film was shot in November of 1987 at Trump Tower in New York City. “Trump: The Art of the Deal” was first released in November of 1987. I haven’t been able to confirm that this was the first official release event for the book. I was in NYC to attend a photography convention, verified, and happened to stop by Trump Tower while sightseeing on Fifth Avenue. I was actually taking photos of the Tower’s atrium waterfall wall when Donald Trump came down the escalator to the ground floor. I turned my attention to him when a large gathering of people with copies of the book surrounded him. It may have been that there was a more formal release in an upper room/area of Trump Tower that day. People were there, with books to be signed, waiting for him so it must have been announced/promoted to some extent if not part of the actual first release event for the book. I don’t recall if books were being sold in the lobby, or one of the stores there, but there were a lot of people, press, and security, though I was not restricted when I approached to take photos. A 10 page portfolio book, 12"H x 10"W, has been compiled and includes; a fact sheet about the event and the film used with notations about the images, 3 strips of negatives - 15 frames with 6 frames/images of Donald Trump signing/while signing “Trump: The Art of the Deal” and other images of the atrium waterfall wall to validate the location, a signed statement by the photographer about the event and their presence there, photo copies of the negatives and the convention badge I wore - the reason I was in NYC, and printed copies of the 6 images of Donald Trump. The portfolio will be packaged/delivered in a 11" x 14" archival photo box. The film is 35 years old and does have some processing residue that has reacted over time on only a few of the frames. Just before compiling the portfolio I had the negatives digitally scanned and have retouched those digital file images to remove signs of residue. I will turn over the retouched digital images, and the scanned film files, once a buyer completes the sale - these cannot be included in the sale as they are easily usable and can be copied by those who might seek to try and return the items after purchase. The original images themselves were shot on a high speed film, Kodak Tri-X 400 film, the light in the Trump Tower atrium was very low level and I was without a flash so the images are grainy and there is some blurring in a few of the images - see images in listing. The images of Donald Trump have historic aspects, not withstanding he was our 45th president, but “Trump: Art of the Deal” was his first published book and it was a best seller for a number of weeks, it was reissued again in 2015 and again landed on the best seller list. Ownership of original film/images has many publishing and use options as you aren’t in need of any rights clearances so the possibilities for usage are quite wide open. Shipping for this item will be handled by UPS Ground service, insured for sale price, with signature required to ensure it is safely delivered, and insured in case of loss or damage - shipping will be paid by seller, should you desire faster/overnight shipping you would have to pay for the additional charges, insuring an item of this value adds substantial cost to shipping.
