Hillary Clinton ran for the 2008 democrat presidential nomination against Barack Obama but lost out. And, of course, she received the 2016 nomination to run against Donald Trump. But even though she was tapped to be Obama's Secretary of State, some folks evidently wanted her to challenge him in 2012, just like Edward Kennedy did to the widely unpopular president, Jimmy Carter in 1980.
