I have for sale a political token for the 1896 United States Presidential Campaign, also known as Bryan money. William Jennings Bryan was the democratic candidate and William McKinley was the republican candidate. Bryan advocated the free coinage of silver, and to be standard money with gold at the ratio of 16 to 1. McKinley endorsed a single standard of gold. McKinley won the election and became our 25th president. This token looks to be either lead or white metal, it is 1 3/4 inch in diameter, it has a reeded edge and its in circulated condition, see photos. The obverse in the center shows a donkey-headed goose with POP on the body. The POP can be seen, but it is worn. In the right field it reads IN BRYAN WE TRUST. At the rim it reads UNITED SNAKES OF AMERICA. The reverse text reads FREE SILVER - ONE DAM - 1896. Please see over 900 more collectibles for sale in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (19,037 TTRA)
