I have for sale an 1896 Presidential Campaign satirical pieces circulated to ridicule the democratic proposal for free coinage of silver at 16 to 1. (16 oz of silver to 1 oz of gold) William Jennings Bryan was the Democratic candidate and William McKinley was the Republican candidate. McKinley won the election. This piece is 3 1/2 inches in diameter, made of white metal and is in a very high grade circulated condition. The obverse shows a Liberty head in the center with BRYAN'S MONEY at the top rim, and at the bottom rim it has the year 1896 with 8 stars. The reverse has an eagle in the center and around the rim it reads BRYANS IDEA OF COINAGE. In the center it reads ABER - 16 TO 1 - NIT.
