This 1834 Andrew Jackson Presidential Campaign medal (DeWitt/Sullivan-CE 1834-29; HT-5; Low 3; Rarity-3; brass, 27 mm.) has nice eye appeal with a nice strike and nice color and surfaces. Obverse: Civilian bust of Jackson to right, with legend: “ANDREW JACKSON” above, and “* PRESIDENT *”, below. Reverse: Legend on seven lines: “WE | COMMEMOAT | THE GLORIOUS | VICTORIES OF | OUR HERO IN | WAR & IN | * PEACE *”, with legend around: “ELECTED. AD. 1828. RE. ELECTED. AD. 1832.” This token was issued to commemorate the elections and the Presidency of Andrew Jackson. There are between 201 and 500 examples of this medal in existence.
